The DC Comics Essentials series is a group of single issues DC Comics has selected to be reprinted and priced at $1.00, intended to make the DC Universe more accessible. Each issue also includes related pages from the 2014 DCE Essential Graphic Novels catalogue.
Batman's 75th anniversary is here, and to celebrate, DC Entertainment is offering a series of promotionally priced specials that capture the Dark Knight's greatest moments. This special kicks off a new story arc, "Batman and Son", written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Andy Kubert. The story was the beginning of Morrison's run in the Batman comic as well as his long-term take on the character of Batman through multiple titles over the next seven years. The arc introduced Batman's son, Damian Wayne, bringing him into the mainstream continuity of the DC Universe.
