Regular monthly series written by Warren Ellis that ran for 60 issues.
Issues #1-12 were published under DC's "Helix" imprint. Changed to "Vertigo" with #13 as the Helix line was discontinued, and Transmetropolitan was the only title remaining from the Helix line.
The series chronicles the battles of Spider Jerusalem, infamous renegade journalist of the future. Spider Jerusalem dedicates himself to fighting the corruption and abuse of power of two successive United States presidents; he and his "filthy assistants" strive to keep their world from turning more dystopian than it already is while dealing with the struggles of fame and power, brought about due to the popularity of Spider via his articles.
The series is reprinted in 10 Trade Paper Back collections (which have all been reprinted in "new" editions).
