(See also Robo-Hunter: Day of the Droids")
Black and White Trade paperback collection from DC's 2000 AD imprint that collects Robo-Hunter stories that were originally serialised in 2000 AD #76-84,100-112.
Sam Slade used to be one of the best Robo-Hunters in the business. But he is getting old and old means slow — and slow means dead.
That is, until Sam takes on the biggest case of his life. Verdus was a paradise planet, ripe for transformation into a place humans could live. While the colonists made their long journey there, a self-replicating robot was sent out to prepare the planet. But since the humans arrived, all contact with the colony has been lost — and Sam aims to find out why.
Along the way, however, the lightspeed journey to Verdus is sabotaged and relativistic effects make Slade into a much younger man, while his pilot is transformed into a little kid. Sam might be back to his best, but will even that be good enough against a whole robo-planet?
