Military Comics was an ongoing series published from August 1941 to October 1945 by Quality Comics. Following issue #43, the series changed its title to Modern Comics where it continued until the title's cancellation in 1950 with issue #102. The series was an anthology title featuring various characters, but is most widely known for introducing the Blackhawks, created by Will Eisner and Chuck Cuidera. Other features included: the Death Patrol, Blue Tracer, Miss America, the Phantom Clipper, Private Dogtag, Q Boat and Shot and Shell, Archie Atkins, Loops and Banks, Yankee Eagle and X of the Underground. The rights to many of Quality's characters including the Blackhawks were later acquired by DC.
