3 issue deluxe format Mini-Series
In any artistic medium, there will be great artists who stand out from the crowd. The works of these artists inspire the rest to strive for greater heights, to redefine what is possible.
In 1984, D.C. comics decided to spotlight two of comicdoms’s greats: Bernie Wrightson and Frank Frazetta, in a three-part deluxe-format series. The resulting Masterworks Series of Great Comic Book Artists showed the masters at their best, particularly in its feature of Frazetta’s classic Shining Knight series.
Issues #4-5 were promoted in issue #3, both featuring Neal Adams, but they were never published. Shame.
These issues were Non-Distributed in the UK at the time so always cents copies.
