Slightly irregular series that lasted for 13 issues. The first 11 issues were published by Homage Comics while they were an imprint of WildStorm who were owned by Image at that time. DC then acquired WildStorm in 1998 and #12 was published in June 1999, still with the Homage Comics label on the cover, but now under DC's WildStorm imprint rather than Image's.
#12 was meant to be the first of a 4-part story arc but was left unfinished as DC lost interest in the title. Image then revived Leave it to Chance with #13 in July 2002 but did not take the title any further issue wise, content to reprint the comic in a series of 3 Hardcover volumes during 2002 and 2003.
The short-lived series was critically acclaimed:
1997 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards - Winner - Best New Series
1998 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards - Nominee - Best Continuing Series
