Regular series that ran for 12 issues.
Preceded by Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps and The Green Lanterns. This series was replaced by Green Lantern: Blackstars.
The series' title contains the word, "The", which differentiates it from previous Green Lantern series. While Hal Jordan is the central character, the series' title does not necessarily refer to him but to the Green Lantern Corps central power battery. Writer Grant Morrison explains that the title is influenced by the 1950s British police procedurial film, The Blue Lamp.
The series was reprinted in two Hardcover and Trade paperback collections:
The Green Lantern: Intergalactic Lawman (#1-6)
The Green Lantern: The Day The Stars Fell (#7-12, Annual #1)
