In the last week of August 2011 DC brought their existing line of titles to an end and replaced them with a line of 52 first issues that takes place in a new post-Flashpoint universe.
This title saw the launch of the new DCU Detective Comics, the first time it has had a number #1 since 1937! Originally launched as a standard book, the title received a back up feature starting with issue #8.
The first issue sold out and went to a 2nd, 3rd and 4th printing pretty quickly! The most successful of the titles. Helped by a great Joker cover on this issue!
Like the 2nd (New 52) series of Batman, the early sold out issues are in demand and commanded decent values!
The series is collected in a number of Hardcover and Trade paperback collections:
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Faces of Death (#1-7)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Scare Tactics (#0,8-12, Annual #1)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Emperor Penguin (#13-18)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Wrath (#19-25, Annual #2)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Gothtopia (#25-29)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Icarus (#30-34, Annual #3)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Anarky (#35-40, Detective Comics (2nd series): Endgame #1, Detective Comics (2nd Series): Futures End #1)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Blood of Heroes (#41-47)
Detective Comics (2nd Series): Gordon At War (#48-52, Batman: Rebirth #1)
