Regular monthly series that lasted for 58 issues.

In 1990 DC launched this ongoing series for Etrigan the Demon and his host Jason Blood, written initially by Alan Grant and art from Val Semeiks and later written/drawn by Garth Ennis and John McCrea as well as a number of guest writers. Grant had previously written the character in his six issue Action Comics Weekly feature in 1989, before which Matt Wagner penned a Mini-Series The Demon (1987) after the character's revival in Alan Moore's Saga of the Swamp Thing.

Where previous versions had been serious, Grant had a more chaotic and sardonic/comedic take on the character similar to Grant's parody take on Lobo (with whom the series would crossover many times). After Grant left Ennis continued in that vain for the remainder of the series which lasted for 59 issues (including an event #0 issue ) and 2 annuals ( Ennis' popular Hitman character made his debut in the 2nd annual).

All issues distributed in the UK at the time.

Garth Ennis's run on the title has been collected in:

The Demon (2nd Series) Volume One: Hell's Hitman (#40,42-49 and Annual #2)

The Demon (2nd Series) Volume Two: The Longest Day (#0,50-58)
