BEANO COMIC (THE)

Issue: 2 (1938)
From: 1938 To: 1938

It is thought that only a handful of copies exist, around about 10 copies. An example of the Sugar Buttons gift (not surprisingly) has yet to be found. In Sep 2004 a VG copy sold at auction for £2,057; in Mar 2005 a VG sold for £2,135 and in Nov 2009 another example sold for £3,025. It had a slight right-hand edge trim.

In the Jun  2015 Comic Book Postal Auctions catalogue, a VG copy descibed as 'bright cover with some margin tears and spine wear. No loss. Light tan pages with some back cover foxing' fetched £5.300 including the 14% Buyer's Premium, a record price for this issue. COMPAL is setting new benchmarks for values for early Beanos so watch this space!
