A very successful comic that was marketed as two comics in one - you could pull out Chips from inside so you were either a Whizz Kid or a Chip-ite. Can't remember what I was. The first few issues are harder to come by. Intact free gifts are tough to find too - we all played with them and they ended up buried in the garden somewhere! A whole run isn t the easiest thing to put together and comedy comics are on the rise in collectibility. Watch this space!
The annuals lasted from 1971 (a tough one to get) up to 1992. There were Holiday Specials from 1970 to 1991. The free gift with issue #1 of the regular comic is hard to find intact: 12 Free Super Stickers. They tend to lose their stick and go a bit stained and transparent with age. Would add about £40-£60 to value if perfect.
Huge thanks to Steven Adamson for some invaluable pictures. He is the King of Free Gifts!
