VULCAN (SCOTTISH EDITION)
Interestingly the title was first launched in Scotland from 1st March 1975 for 30 issues until Sep 1975 before the National Edition was published. There is no mention of the fact that it's a 'national edition' next week. All the stories end in the 20th Sep edition and there is a sense of re-launch if you like with the news of a free gift next week.
These Scottish editions are so much more scarce than the National Editions though most copies are turning up on eBay UK and seem to go for at least £25 each in basic VG condition. Issues #1 and #2 are a different story! If they ever turn up that is...
The 3rd from last issue dated 6th September 1975 sold for an amazing £74 on eBay UK way back in Jan 2009. Not in brilliant condition either.
A set of issues #4-30 in very nice condition sold for a very reasonable £184 on eBay UK in Sep 2011.
And in the same month in a private sale with Mr Dave Westaway, collector and authority on comics, I bought Vulcan #1,2 and 3 with the free gifts for £250.
A mid grade #1 with nice condition free gift fetched £151.99 on eBay UK in Feb 2013.
A German version of Vulcan called Kobra shows up on eBay UK occasionally!
