A title with great appeal as it reprints the cream of British comic strips from The Trigan Empire to Robot Archie, The Spider to The Steel Claw. The black and white strips have been re-coloured for the most part and look at bit garish but there's some great art and stories. Sadly short-lived.

Even though it is quite common on eBay UK it is hard to find in high grade as the flimsy paper shows every mark and tiny crease. Real shame that the production values were so low with strips re-sized and cut to fit the format and some bad colouring used on strips that were originally black and white. But a great line up of classic comic strips none the less.

There was one holiday special in 1976 and one (softcover) annual in 1977. The free gift with issue #1 (Super Potato pop gun) is fairly common and adds a few pounds to the value. Better if it's still attached to its plastic sprue in original packet. Then I'd say it adds £15-£25  to values shown for each grade (condition) below.

The gift was originally supplied inside the comic which caused creasing and crinkling. Even if copies are flattened out under glass, absolutely flat very high grade copies of issue #1 are rare!

Mar 2017: Comic Book Postal Auctions sold a set of #1-28 for at least £820....I was bidding on other things and lost sight of the final sale price. Auction fever gone mad!
