TRUE LIFE LIBRARY HOLIDAY SPECIAL

Publishers: IPC
Dates: 1 May 1970-14 1983

Very tough to find with their limited print runs. Anyone out there got a complete set? If so I will be the first to stand you a drink at the bar. The covers are nice to look at - I like the sultry lady on #6.

I don't recall seeing these in the newsagents back in the day but then again I was more interested in American super-heroes and war comics so wasn't actively looking for them. The fact I don't ever recall seeing a True Life Library comic in my local newsagets at the time - and I was there practically every day as a child in the late 60s/early 70s- tells me that this title wasn't widely available.

#1 is very rare - I have never actually seen a copy in my hands so the value is what someone is prepared to pay for it! It is thought that there were ony 14 issues published once a year and again actual values are hard to determine without sales data. In the low few pounds generally speaking in average grades and perhaps in the tens and twenties for very high grades. Market demand dtermines value. Condition is all too and picture libraries in general suffer from spine creasing with the repeated opening and closing - I remember folding back covers on my war comic picture libaries so that reading them was easier. Oh for a time machne to go back and say to my young self not to do that!

As a general guide value, copies in average VG condition would be in the few pounds, in exceptional high grade condition in the tens of pounds.
