A bit of an odd one this and really only for
completists. This was a large format. thin card cover picture book of animals
that The Topper featured in its pages and as such is the first Topper
'annual'. It is pretty rare - I have seen 2 copies on E Bay in the last 4 years
or so. Hard to put a value on it - one of those 'whatever someone wants to pay
for it'. I have not seen a copy in FINE condition or above though presumably
there is one out there somewhere! May 2008: I eat my words. A near Fine copy
offered on E Bay and it sold for £69 which seems like a steal to me though it
is a very specialised item and the market appeal for it is probably very small.
Even so, the nicest copy I’ve seen so far (see illustration).
