One of the long-lived giants of British comics, famous for Roy of the Rovers. The free gift Space Gun with issue #1 is unbelievably rare and would add at least £150 to the value perhaps. Note amalgamations: the first three were - 1st Tiger & Champion (26th Mar 1955), Tiger & Comet (24th Oct 1959), Tiger & Hurricane #1 (15th May 1965). Note also that true high grade copies without rusty and/or disintegrated staples are very tough to find even up into the early 60s issues. Very Fine means off-white to white pages, lightest surface rust only on staples (not staining surrounding paper) and no defects like scribbles, tears or pieces out. A newsagent name or house number neatly inscribed at the top of the cover is acceptable though I personally think that covers without names is better.
With thanks to Steven Adamson for some great illustrations.
Sep 2021: Comic Book Postal Auctions achieved a world record price for selling a Tiger #1 at an amazing £2,200. Surely a bidding war that went mad....
