Initially published by TV Publications before being sold to Polystyle, Playland was a nursery comic aimed at younger children. It featured a variety of strips based on popular children's television shows, such as Sooty and Sweep, The Herbs, Tich and Quackers, Animal Magic and Larry the Lamb. On 5th July 1975 the last issue of Playland, #391, was published - a week later it merged into its sister title Pippin to form Pippin in Playland.
