MARVEL UK 1981 SNAPSHOT
I thought it might be interesting to list what Marvel titles were available un the UK in 1981, at a mid-point you might say, of the Marvel UK explosion that began in 1973 (there was another resurgence of publishing in the early 1990s).
By 1981 there were two weekly titles left, Captain America Weekly and Spider-Man Weekly. There were twelve monthly titles: Blake’s 7, Blockbuster, Dr. Who, Empire Strikes back, Future Tense, Marvel Super-Heroes, Marvel Madhouse, Rampage, Savage Action, Savage Sword of Conan, Starburst and Worzel Gummidge! There were eight Pocketbooks series, all short-lived.: Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Chillers, X-Men (formerly Star Heroes), Conan, Hulk, Titans and Young Romance.
