Highly collectible. The first two are quite hard to find, especially in high
grade. They just don’t seem to be offered for sale as much as Valiant or Tiger
or Buster for some reason. Titled Lion and Thunder Holiday Special 1971-1973
and Lion Holiday Special 1974-1980. The 1979 issue is a tough one: I heard a story once that at the time a major UK retailer destroyed copies owing the swastika on the front cover. Don't know if that's true.
The Summer Spectacular preceded this run of Summer Specials. A copy in Fine sold on E Bay for £17 (Nov 2007) so I could be a little under in my estimates. But given its rarity I thought that was a very cheap price. Watch this space as more research will be done based on (hopefully) more sales.
