A very successful title that lasted 40 years (currently stands as Fleetway's longest running title in fact), successful for its mixture of comedy strips and dramatic stories. Among the best are Maxwell Hawke by Eric Bradbury, The Toys of Doom & Galaxus the Thing From Outer Space by Solano Lopez and Fish Boy by John Stokes. The character of Buster was created by Reg Smythe as The Son of Andy Capp and in that same flat cap style. Buster was the first title created by Fleetway after they took over publishing from the great Amalgamated Press.
Note the first three amalgamations: Buster & Radio Fun #1 (25th Feb 1961), Buster & Film Fun #1 (15th Sep 1962), Buster & The Big One #1 (27th Feb 1965).
