Regular series that ran for 24 issues.
Master writer Chris Claremont returns to the mutants he made famous. In this alternate reality, Claremont tells the story he wanted to tell before he left the series in 1991. The events change after the X-Men's first run in with Magneto in #1-3 of "Adjectiveless" X-Men (2nd Series). The series started with a one-shot named X-Men Forever Alpha. The series lasted for 24 issues and was followed by X-Men Forever 2. The series had one X-Men Forever Annual.
