Squirrel Girl, real name Doreen Green, is a mutant superheroine in the Marvel Comics Universe. Squirrel Girl's creation and inspiration came from Will Murray wanting to cut loose from the serious drama of the X-Men titles and bring back the light-hearted pleasure of comic books and now she has got her own ongoing series.
The series lasted for only 8 issues due to the events of Secret Wars, but returned with a new number 1 in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (2nd Series), two months later.
