SPECTRE, WRATH OF THE
4 issue Mini-Series which was a reprinting of stories featuring the Spectre from Adventure Comics #426,431-440 and one unrelated story from the House of Mystery #201.
Three unpublished stories were meant to be included in the Adventure Comics series in the 1970s. Unfortunately (in my opinion, "something clean in the water" and a safer sales bet maybe), Aquaman replaced the Spectre as the feature character in Adventure Comics. Jim Aparo in 1988 was at last able to ink these three stories, and they appear for the first time in the fourth and final issue of this Mini-Series.
There is a Trade Paper Back collection that reprints the Mini-Series.
An unusually contraversial and at times horrific series in the context of the time that echoed the EC horror comics of the 1950s, comics which led to the formation of the Comics Code Authority back then as such comics were thought by psychiatrists to cause juveile deliquency and teen problems.
