Giant Size X-Men #1 features the return of the X-Men after their fading away between 1970 and 1975 in a series of reprinted adventures.
This is one of the most sought-after Bronze Age (1970-1985) comic book. Perhaps second only to Incredible Hulk #181. Though Amazing Spider-Man #129 has muscled its way into collectors Wants Lists!
There are plenty of Giant Size X-Men #1 copies about though. A starting point of values is hard to arrive at as very top grade copies regularly fetch multiples of Guide in the United States. For example, a 9.8 Near Mint/Mint sold on an American auction site for $8,411 in Jul 2010. Or £5,800 in Olde English Money. Amazing! Or should that be Uncanny....
Beware that this comic can suffer from faded cover colours - if the lettering looks pink rather than cherry red, it's sun-faded!
2021: Comic Link sold a 9.8 copy for $65,000.
