The last line of defense against the forces of the unknown. The series was cancelled with issue #12, and was restarted with Marvel NOW's Fearless Defenders.
As a recommended pre-requisite, pick up Marvel Point One and read the Dr. Strange story, "The Shaman of Greenwich Village". It leaves off where the Dr. Strange introduction of Defenders #1 picks-up.
