The original DC Comics Presents was a series published by DC from 1978 to 1986 featuring team-ups between Superman and a wide range of other characters from the DC Universe.
DC decided to revive the series in 2004 in the form of eight one-shot issues. Each issue was a tribute to legendary DC editor Julius Schwartz who had recently died. Schwartz had a practice of first commissioning an artist to design a cover and then telling the writer(s) to create a story around the cover. This series takes classic DC covers and adds a new story. The 8 issues were:
DC Comics Presents: The Atom #1 based on cover of Atom #10
DC Comics Presents: Batman #1 based on cover of Batman #183
DC Comics Presents: The Flash #1 based on cover of Flash #163
DC Comics Presents: Green Lantern #1 based on cover of Green Lantern #31
DC Comics Presents: Hawkman #1 based on cover of Hawkman #6
DC Comics Presents: Justice League of America #1 based on cover of Justice League of America #53
DC Comics Presents: Mystery in Space #1 based on cover of Mystery in Space #82
DC Comics Presents: Superman #1 based on cover of Superman #264
