After nearly fifty years of story-telling, it was felt that the DC Universe had become too complex, with other Earths and other superhero versions of the same character. Crisis was an effort to do away with all these and simplify the job of a DC editor for one! And there were some truly momentous deaths such as Supergirl and The Flash. With gorgeous detailed artwork by George Perez, this was a major event at the time.
