One of the great heroes of the Golden Age as told in the Timely Comics series, Captain America found a new audience in the 1960s Silver Age with his re-introduction in Avengers #4 and his leadership of that group. After a lengthy run in Tales of Suspense #59-99 , the Captain gained his own title in 1968 with the numbering carrying on from Tales of Suspense #99.

The early issues as pence variants are pretty common apart from #101 and #102 and the UK 'distribution crisis' from #113 to #117. Pence variant copies either have small ink cover stamps or the UK price printed where the American price was. There is no difference in quality - the American and British versions were printed at the same time on the same paper.

#148 and #156 reputedly came over to the UK in very small quantities to newsagents and was listed as nd rather than ND in dealers' sales lists in the mid 70s.

There has been a definite upsurge in collectability with the success of the Captain America films and his part in the Avengers films too. Loving the casting of Chris Evans.
