One of the best titles of the 1960s in my opinion for consistent quality of story and character. Loved all those "Is It True?" cover features that began with issue 9th March 1968. The free gift for issue #1 League Ladders and Pocket Rocket are extremely tough to find and together may add about £125-£150 on the values of the comics. Early examples of League Ladders gifts are a little more common though still hard to find and could add about £75-£80 value. Only ever seen one true Near Mint copy of issue #1. Mine.
Certainly in recent times, Valiant seems to be a title on the up and up. In the COMPAL June 2009 catalogue, for example, a complete year 1966 graded fn/vfn sold for an amazing £798 as did a complete 1967 year. Well marketed and described by Malcolm Phillips as ever. 60s Valiants do sell!
Big thanks to Phil Shrimpton for some Valiant comic covers and to Steven Adamson for some great free gift pictures. Fine gentlemen both.
