One of the Big Five story papers from DC Thomson and one of the most famous British comics. They often turn up in bound volumes. Difficult to say who collects them today as those that remember the early issues with nostalgic fondness are gradually dying off. As with Hotspur and Wizard the propaganda war-time issues are of collectible interest.

The last year or so is more collectible as we see the traditional story paper struggle with the comic strip comic and losing out. Rover #1 does turn up occasionally at auction and is an interesting time capsule of a by-gone age.

For an in-depth study and cataloguing of this title, you could do no better than pick up The Rover Index by Colin Morgan, a wonderful labour-of-love produced in 1982 which pops up on eBay UK from time to time. Well done sir!
